Pockets and envelopes

Paper is folded and glued on automated production lines to form mail-containing products of various sizes called either "pockets" (opening on the short side) or "envelopes" (opening on the long side).

There are a large number of size formats, both standardised and otherwise. Pockets also vary according to the type of closure used (self-adhesive, gummed, re-openable, adhesive etc.), whether or not they feature a window, the type of base (flat, self-opening etc.), whether or not they have gussets (2 or 3) and personalised printing.
